Delicious and fragrant strawberry liqueur is super easy to make at home. From the same base you can prepare Strawberry Cream Liqueur and Classic Strawberry Liqueur version.
Rinse strawberries under cold running water, drain well and pat dry with a paper towel.
Remove the stems and cut each berry into small dices. As an alternative you can cut them in thin rounds.
Place strawberries in a glass jar with an airtight closing and pour in the alcohol.Make sure all strawberries stay covered with alcohol.
Let macerate for 10 days. It’s possible to macerate strawberries for as little as 5 days up to 20 days.
When you’re ready to make strawberry liqueur, prepare the syrup at least a few hours in advance.
Prepare Sugar Syrup
In a pot add water and sugar and bring everything to a boil. Mix well making sure all sugar is dissolved. Let cool completely.
Prepare Creamy Syrup
If you want to make strawberry cream liqueur mix whipping cream, milk and sugar in a pot. Bring to a boil. Let cool completely. Place in the fridge for a few hours (optional but highly recommended).
Prepare Strawberry Liqueur
Strain strawberries macerated in alcohol. Lightly press with a spoon to extract all the liquid.
If you want to prepare only classic strawberry liqueur make sure to double the syrup and once it’s completely cool mix with strawberry alcohol.
In case you’re preparing both classic and creamy version, first divide strawberry alcohol in 2 equal parts. By weight you should get approximately 450 grams total or 225 grams for each of the liqueurs.
In one part of strawberry alcohol pour sugar syrup, in the other preferably chilled creamy syrup.
Mix well and bottle in sterilized glass bottles.
Notes
If you want to make only classic strawberry liqueur or only strawberry cream liqueur make sure to double the ingredients for sugar syrup or creamy syrup accordingly.
